They are doing all they can to learn the extent of her powers while also figuring out how to once and for all end Daedalus.
Now we have Evie/Nadia and Luc trying to get her power under control without having her or Luc go all God like on the rest of the gang. Fortunately Luc was there to bring her back to “normal” before she killed a couple of our favorite characters. We also get to see Evie’s power and how damaging and evil it can be. He is the purest evil, and he has one more surprise for us yet. You might remember the shocking ending of The Burning Shadow, Jason Dasher is still freaking alive and is the worst news we could have ever gotten. The Brightest Night gets 5 out of 5 blue stars in the Then There Were Books review book. I don’t even know where to begin here, but the safest bet is probably by telling you there will be spoilers from The Burning Shadow (book two) so if you have not read book two then go read it and come back so we can discuss how The Burning Shadow will shatter your heart and will leave you in desperate need for book four like it did for me. And she’s learned truths about herself that she never saw coming–things she once knew, and was made to forget. She’s been betrayed by those who were closest to her.

With that being said, I got to start telling you all about this amazing story because that is why you clicked on this link. You’ll get to read all about Daemon and Katy’s beginning and how the gang came to be. If you haven’t read the Lux series you won’t be completely lost reading these books, but it will help you understand some aspects of the story. The Brightest Night is the third installment in the Origin series, the spinoff from The Lux series. I don’t know how Armentrout manages to do it time and again, but my gosh she has left me heartbroken! The Brightest Night has left me speechless.
